Fragments of life from two brothers of service in the military in the 1940s. In 1941 Mark was conscripted and joined many of his generation in the Second World War. His diary takes us from Grimsby to Suez, across North Africa and the Middle East and then through Italy. We can see his journey and experiences  first-hand through the diary entries.

Bernard undertook his National Service in the years following the war and he tells of his experiences at both home and abroad through deep seared memories and anecdotes.

Mark sadly died in 2012 and left his diary for the family
